Cloud misconfiguration: The security threat too often overlooked

A survey of 300 IT professionals by Fugue, a cloud infrastructure safety provider, reveals that the majority enterprises are weak to safety occasions brought on by cloud misconfiguration, together with knowledge breaches and system downtime events.

From the report:

  • 9 in ten have real considerations about safety dangers as a result of misconfiguration, and fewer than a 3rd constantly monitor for them.
  • Teams report a frequency of 50 or more misconfigurations every day, but half of the groups only evaluate alerts and remediate points on a every day—or longer—timeframe, resulting in dangerously lengthy infrastructure vulnerability durations.

In fact, this report (like several vendor-sponsored report) is self-serving. But the message reflects something that I’m seeing lots immediately in the actual world—and it’s scaring the hell out of me.
